Obituary

Helen Mann Franklin, 71, of Red House Road, Appomattox, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Guggenheimer Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Evant Edward Franklin.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on March 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Ernest Mann and the late Laura Virginia Giles Mann Jordan. She was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Bridget Ann Wieck of Portsmouth, Tammy Lynn Millner, and Kimberly Franklin Archer and husband, Earl Archer, Jr. all of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Chad E. Millner, Tyler Archer, and Taylor Archer; a loving brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Mayberry and Beverly and Vicki Franklin and their families; and close friends, Darnell Thompson and family, Thama Elder, and Barbara Carrico; and a special young man, Brice Connor.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Lee Mann.

The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Leigh Cantrell and staff at UVA, the staff and hospice workers at Guggenheimer, Dr. Kim Wright, and Lisa Smith and staff at Hometown Pharmacy for their kindness and care of Helen.

A graveside funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Liberty Cemetery by Pastor Carlton Duck.
