Hazel Wood Mason Wilbun, 93, of Rt. 1 Appomattox, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Appomattox Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Robert Edward Wilbun.
Born in "Sugarhill", Campbell County, October 25, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Luther Wellington and Iradell Holt Mason. Mrs. Wilbun was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she was an active member of the choir for many years, she also taught the Fidelis Sunday school class for over 20 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and the Appomattox Home Demonstration Club.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ryland O'Brien and Carol B. Wilbun of Rockingham, NC, Gerald David and Sandra W. Wilbun, Charles Edward and Chris R. Wilbun all of Appomattox; seven grandchildren, Amy Hubbard and Clint, Gregory W. Wilbun and Katherine, Matthew Todd Wilbun, David Christopher Wilbun and Shannah, Elizabeth Carrington Ranson and J. D., Breton Edward Wilbun and Alicia, and Daniel Charles Wilbun; seven great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Carrie W. Lollis of Maryland.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Vaden Mason, Nowlin Mason, and Johnny B. Mason and four sisters, Lola McDowell, Senora Tucker, Orlney Bray, and French Wilburn.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2005 at Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bruce Johnson with burial following in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Saturday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at her residence.
