Haven Boyce Fields, 88, of Appomattox died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, in the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Emma Mann Fields.
Born in Kingsport, Tenn., on May 27, 1923, he was a son of the late Emory Lincoln and Nellie Cross Fields. Haven was a member of Spout Spring Baptist Church and retired from Rockydale Quarries Corporation.
He is survived by three children, Haven M. Fields, Sr. and wife, Carolyn, Hazel F. Wilson, and Mildred F. Thompson and husband, Eugene all of Appomattox; 14 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Grover, and Robert Fields and sisters, Opal Hicks and Velma (Jo) Hollingsworth.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Concord Cemetery by the Rev. Nelson Fields and the Rev. Earnie Lucas.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of his son, Haven, 1496 Purdum Mill Rd., Appomattox.
