Obituary

Appomattox: Harvey Louis Simpson, 85, of 8275 Jacksontown Rd, Nanjemoy, MD, died Monday, October 3, 2005 at the Washington Hospital Center. He was the husband of the late Jessalyn Mae Simpson.
Born in Powhatan, October 1, 1920, he was a son of the late Elijah and Alice Blair Webb. Mr. Simpson was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was employed as a guard at Thomasville Furniture.
He is survived by one son, W.H. Simpson and his wife, Ethel of Mineral; four daughters, Dorothy Louise Farrell and her husband, David of Avenue, MD, Juanita Alice Adams and her husband, Leon of Nanjemoy, MD, Joyce Ann Johnson and her husband, Marvin of Appomattox, Billie Jane Watson and her husband, Lewis of Lignum; one step-daughter, Myrtle Virginia Wolff of High Point, NC; three brothers, Thomas Simpson, James Simpson and Lloyd Simpson and one sister, Virginia Shifflet; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one great grandchild, Vanessa Watson; step-son, Norman Eugene Tinnell; brothers, Johnny Simpson and Elijah Simpson; and two sisters, Mae Hall and Rena Tignor.
Pastor Robert E. Lee will hold funeral services 11:00 AM, Friday, October 7, 2005, at Bible Baptist Church with burial following in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Bible Baptist Church and other times at the home of Joyce and Marvin Johnson.
