Harry Elmo Mann, 72, of Purdum Mill Road, Appomattox, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of Elsie Bryant Mann.
Born in Appomattox County, on November 10, 1943, he was a son of the late Violet and Jack B. Mann and was raised by his aunt and uncle, Daisy "Toot" Mayberry Mann of Lynchburg and the late William Rouse Mann. Harry was a member of the US Army serving in the military police stationed in Korea and retired from Rock Ten.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Joan Floyd and husband, Maynard "Pete" of Spout Spring and Terry Eagle and wife, Martha of Concord; four grandchildren, Michael Eagle and Lauren, Brad Floyd and Nickie, Jordan Eagle, and Kaylynn Eagle; a great granddaughter, Braelyn "Button" Floyd; a half-sister, Ann M. Mann; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Kay Eagle; a son, Donnie Ray Eagle; a grandson, Vincent Floyd; a brother, Jack Mann; a sister, Clara Hall; and a half-sister, Carolyn Franklin.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Ricky Hackett. Burial will follow in the Bryant Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2016 and other times at the residence.
