Harold Clifton Wingfield, Sr. 77, of Richmond, died Monday, March 14, 2011, in St. Francis Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Merle Watson Wingfield.

Born in Altavista, VA, on November 12, 1933, he was a son of the late Twyman C. and Melissa Guthrie Wingfield. He retired as a plant supervisor from International Paper Company in Richmond. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Wingfield Scott.

He is survived by a son, Harold Clifton Wingfield, Jr.; a granddaughter, Rebecca Wingfield; a grandson, Harold Clifton Wingfield, III and his wife, Crissy; and a sister, Faye Wingfield Holland, all of Richmond.

Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011, in Old Herman Cemetery, Appomattox. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, 667 Court Street, Appomattox one hour prior to the service.
