Harold Patrick "Pat" Lair, Jr. 79, of Honeysuckle Lane, Pamplin, died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Farmville Health and Rehabilitation. He was the loving husband of Dorothy "Cookie" Sadler Lair.
Born in New York, December 16, 1939, he was a son of the late Mary Louise Burtner and Commander Harold Patrick Lair, Sr. Pat was a member of Pamplin United Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Ruth Lair Almond and husband, Scott of Spout Spring, and Kimberly Falero Ramsey and husband, Terry of Evergreen; a son Patrick Lair, III, and wife, Olivia of Lynchburg; one brother, Michael John Lair of Dutton; six grandchildren, T.W. Woody, Dakota Schmitt, Cullen Ramsey, Leighton Ramsey, Naomi Lair and Lucas Lair; one great-granddaughter, Savanah Woody.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Pamplin United Methodist Church with Rev. Marsha Davis and Rev. Herndon Jeffreys officiating. Burial will follow in Pamplin cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
