Guy Samuel "Buckshot" McCormick, Jr., 69, passed away on May 4, 2022, at his residence. He was the husband of Jessica M. McCormick.

Born on June 14, 1952, in Buckingham County, Va., he was the son of Frances Viar McCormick of Gladstone and the late Guy Samuel McCormick, Sr. He spent his career as a logger. Guy enjoyed hunting, floating the James River, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Stephanie "Shug" McCormick Hansen and husband, Pat of Gladstone, and Kirstyn Lee "Nunu" McCormick of Phenix; one brother, Larry W. "Tootie" McCormick and wife, Margie of Gladstone; three sisters, Patricia V. McCormick of Appomattox, Rebecca M. Jones and husband, Riley of Gladstone, and Mamie "Rita" M. Henson and husband, Lee of Gladstone; seven grandchildren, Jason Hansen and wife, Lori, Hailey "Beebop" Lawhorne and husband, Ray, Hunter "Drake" Hansen, Sydney Ellis, Mason "Maymay" Hansen, Jacie Ellis, and Addy Ellis; three great-grandchildren, Brantley, Ryder, and Ellie Mae; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa "Tinky" McCormick Ellis.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the McCormick Family Cemetery in Gladstone, 8290 Richmond Hwy, Gladstone, Va. 24553.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Friday, May 6, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home.
