Gracie McFadden Jessup, 90, of Gladstone, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 7, 2016. She was a resident of Fairmont Crossing Nursing Home in Amherst and was the wife of the late James Edlow Jessup, Sr.
Born in Appomattox, September 2, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Gladys McCormick and James McFadden. Gracie was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school as well as volunteering for the local rescue squad in Queenstown, MD when she was younger.
She leaves behind a sister Corrine Slater of Roanoke; a brother Emmett McFadden and wife Linda of Gladstone; a son-in-law Leon Davis of Florida; two grandsons, Drew Mullens, Jr and wife Yvonne, and Dean Mullens all of Gladstone; five great-grandchildren, Brandi, Chancey and Cooper all of Florida, Warren and Matthew of Rustburg; one great-great granddaughter, Leonah of Florida; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and caregivers. Gracie will truly be missed by all, but especially by her canine companion "Lady."
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home with Minister John Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the McFadden Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home.
