Gloria Ranson Day, 75, of Appomattox, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 2, 2018. She was the wife of Walter Linsey Day for 57 years.

Born in Lynchburg, April 16, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Odelle Mann and Boyd Calvin Ranson. Gloria was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. She loved her friends and family and always wanted everyone to have a relationship with the Lord. She loved and was concerned about children and expressed this love by fostering many children throughout her lifetime.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Walter Davin Day and wife, Shamane of Amherst and Daryl Todd Day and wife, Jenni of Tazewell; one daughter, Tamara Renee Day of Chicago; two foster children, Stephanie Bond and Eddie Day; one sister, Sylvia Pack and husband, Brod; five grandchildren, Crystal, Thomas, Victor, Giovanna, and Maddie; and two great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Rocks Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Grooms officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018 and other times at the residence.
