Glenn Allen Doss, 55, of Stone Ridge Rd., Concord, died suddenly, Monday, January 10, 2011, in Rocky Mount, VA. He was the husband of Sue Moore Doss.

Born in Lynchburg, VA, on December 27, 1955, he was a son of the late Henry Allen Doss and Marjorie Woodson Doss Reider. Glenn was a foreman for Commercial Steel Erection and a farmer. For 12 years he was the owner and operator of Herndon's Grocery. Glenn was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and Moose Lodge #975. He was a member and had previously served as secretary of Chestnut Mountain Hunt and was a member of Agee, Black Rock, and Mountain View Hunt Clubs.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon A. and Kim Doss; two grandchildren, Elijah Allen and Isabella Abree Doss all of Concord; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Wanda Doss and Timmy and Teressa Doss all of Appomattox; Mother-in-law, Christine H. Moore of Concord; Step-father, Ralph Reider, Jr. of Appomattox; three nieces, Dana D. Beckhouse, Jessica Doss, and Michelle D. Bryant; one great-niece and three great-nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Virgle Moore.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011, in New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Wes Williams with burial following in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Friday, from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Christine Moore.
