IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenice Ann
Van Cleef Walton
December 17, 1933 – June 19, 2023
Glenice Ann Van Cleef Walton, 89, of Spout Spring passed away on June 19, 2023, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Winston Davis Walton for 62 years.
Born on December 17, 1933, in Dinwiddie County, she was the daughter of the late Harmon Cropsey Van Cleef and Fanny Alease House Van Cleef. She was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. Glenice was a homemaker and had worked as a driver with the Central VA Commission on Aging (Meals on Wheels). She had also worked as a part time mail carrier with the Spout Spring Post Office.
Playing the piano was a passion for Glenice. She played for her church and her family. She loved old hymns; singing and playing these daily was a true joy for her. Teaching and studying God's word was very important and she often held Bible studies in her home. Glenice enjoyed games like croquet and Flinch, and she was a real competitor. Spending time with her family with a homecooked meal and singing God's praises was an ideal day.
She is survived by four children, Jill W. Harris and husband, Jerry, Roger Walton and wife, Connie, Russel Walton and wife, Jennifer all of Appomattox, and Amanda W. Stoltz and husband, Kurt of Fraser, CO; six grandchildren, Aaron Harris, Jordan Harris, Faith Walton, Josey Walton, Ethan Walton, and Sadie Stoltz; nine great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Brooklyn, Madden, Dillynger, Kellyn, Lynden, Caplyn, Ezra, and Novalla; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harmon Roger Van Cleef, and Merritte Nelson Van Cleef; and a sister, Joyce Alease Van Cleef.
A funeral service will be held 10 am, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Grooms officiating. A private interment at Liberty Cemetery will be held following the service.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm on Friday, June 23 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
