Gladys Elzena Treadway Tucker, 100, of Narrow Passage Road, Spout Spring, died Sunday morning September 13, 2015 at Appomattox Health and Rehab.
She was the widow of Shelby H. Tucker.
She was born, November 6,1914 in Elizabethton, TN a daughter of the late Nola Grandstaff and George Henderson Treadway. Gladys was a member of Central Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and a member of the W.M.U. She was a homemaker and a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She loved sewing and made baby blankets for Liberty Godparents Home and enjoyed working with crafts and helping her husband on the farm.
She was preceded in death by brothers, R.B. and Ernest Treadway.
She is survived by her children, Gordon Tucker and wife, Margaret of Spout Spring; Barbara T. Arnold and husband, Dennis, Jr. of Concord; Sue T. Collins and husband, Edgar of Forest; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; a brother Earl Gordon Treadway of Jonesboro, TN., and numerous nieces and nephews
Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday September 16, 2015 at Central Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. John Pickett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Tuesday night from 7-8:30 pm and at other times at the home of Gordon and Margaret Tucker, 1721 Narrow Passage Rd., Spout Spring.
