Gladys Virginia Womack Franklin, 85, of Salem Road, Spout Spring, died Saturday, August 22, 2020.  She was the wife of the late Thomas Clifton Franklin, Sr.

Born in Farmville, December 20, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Anita Hodges and William Womack.  Gladys was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, nannie and GiGi to many loved ones.  She enjoyed going to karaoke and spending time with family and friends.  Gladys was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU and the choir, and served the church as the janitor for over 20 years.

She is survived by her four children, Wanda Renee Franklin Jordan, Lisa Jane Franklin Martin and husband, Cecil, John Walker Franklin and wife, Mary Ruth and Thomas Clifton Franklin, Jr., and wife, Shannon; seven grandchildren, Sheena Norfield (Mike), Heather Spence (Tony), Hunter Franklin (Brittney), Morgan Martin and Micaela Franklin, Tyler Burns, and Mason Fox; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Norfield, Dylan Norfield, Lizzie Grace Shull, Haiden Falwell, and Paisley Franklin; a sister-in-law, Lillian Womack; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Woodrow Womack, Newton Womack and Edward O. Womack; two sisters, Mattie W. Barr and Margie W. Morgan; and a son-in-law, Leroy Jordan.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Evergreen Baptist Church with Dr. Chris King and Rev. Todd Estes officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Evergreen Baptist Church.
