Gladys Eileene Moore Jenkins Bray, 92, of Running Deer Lane, Pamplin, died Sunday, January 18, 2009 in Appomattox Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late George L. Bray.
Born in Appomattox County, July 13, 1916, she was a daughter of the late William W. and Maggie Shaner Moore. Gladys was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and retired from G. C. Murphy.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Allen Ray and Dorothy Jenkins of Pamplin; a brother, Allen B. Moore of Spout Spring; three granddaughters, Melody & Tom Brown, Eileene and Arthur Robinson of Lynchburg, and Rachel Miller of Concord; seven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Ray Moore and Billy Moore and two sisters, Martha Cofflin and Rachel Moore.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 in Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Thorne and the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 7-8:30 pm.
