Gilliam Lee "Buddy" Martin, 86, of Appomattox, peacefully entered into the presence of our Lord on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Born in Appomattox County, July 9, 1937, he was a son of the late Mary Lee Martin and William Taft "Billy" Martin.  Buddy's favorite pastime was spending weekends surrounded by his family at his cabin at the lake, fishing and hunting.

He leaves to cherish his memory; brother, William Martin; four children, Dennis Martin and Angel, David Martin and wife, Lisa, Susan Davis and husband, Cotton and Gregory Martin and wife, Dana all of Appomattox; nine grandchildren, April Martin, Candi Pollard, Robbie Childress and husband, Jay, Tiffany Vaughan and husband, Tim, Christopher Rowe, Tabitha Lamberth and husband, Stephon, Ashley Drinkard and TJ, Jessica Page and husband, Jake and Linsay Carter; 20 great-grandchildren; special niece Darnell Thompson and husband, Gary and their son, Chandler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Buddy was preceded in death by his sister, Laura "Dolly" Mayberry and husband, Curtis, Sr.; granddaughter, Christie Martin, great-granddaughter, Kesslee Biscotti; nephew, Curtis Mayberry, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Patsy W. Martin.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Concord Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Childress officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the home of David and Lisa.
