Geraldine Martin Metz, 68, of Spring Mill Rd., Concord, died Friday morning August 10, 2012 in UVA Hospital. She was the wife of Franklin H. Metz.

Born in Appomattox County, on July 17, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Maury Gibbs and Lillian Drinkard Martin. She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. Geraldine was retired from Babcock and Wilcox.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Deborah Moore Foster and husband Thomas Foster, Jr. and Gwendolyn Moore Lawhorn and husband Robert Lawhorn, Jr.; two step-daughters, Julie Metz Kershner and husband Jim Kershner, Jr. and Frosty Metz Peto and husband, Raymond J. Peto, Jr.; a step-son, Franklin H. Metz, Jr. and wife Stacy Metz; a brother, Maury G. (Dick) Martin, Jr. and wife Lelia Martin; two sisters, Alice Martin Yeatts and husband Larry Yeatts and Barbara Martin Whitehead and husband Larry Whitehead; eight grandchildren, Chris (Monica) Lawhorn, Chelsea Moore, Jason Lawhorn, Brittany Moore, Josh Lawhorn, Steven Ricciuti, Hunter Metz, and Suzy Metz; one great grandchild, Trinity Lawhorn; a brother-in-law, Richard Metz and wife Gloria Metz; sister-in-law, Connie W. Martin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Evelyn Martin Moore and a brother, Alfred C. Martin.

Funeral services will be held Sunday August 12, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. in Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry Mann. Burial will follow in Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Saturday night August 11, 2012 from 7-8:30 P.M and other times at the residence
