Obituary
Spout Spring: Gerald Martin (Jerry) Sowell, 62, of 218 Cedar Cove Lane, died Monday, February 26, 2007. He was the husband of Dolly Sowell.
Born in Lynchburg, February 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Martin and Hattie Bass Sowell. Jerry attended Ferrum College and Lynchburg College, was a driver for Thompson Trucking Co. and attended Liberty Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, Jeri Lynn Fanney and husband, Keith of Lynchburg, J. R. Harvey, Jr., Shawn Ramsey and husband, Terry, and Shana Canada and husband, John all of Appomattox; and six grandchildren, Kelsey Jo, Emily C., Mason, MaKenzie, Emilie F, and Reagan.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 28, 2007 in Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev. Rusty Small and the Rev. Jerry Childress. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the home of Shawn Ramsey, 1961 Country Club Drive.
