Gerald Erwin Hodge, 88, of Appomattox, passed away, August 2, 1013, after a long battle with ALS. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Cooksey Hodge along with many loved family and friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia; his children, Sharald Reagle, Michael Hodge, Steven Hodge, Gerrie Hodge; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Gerald lived a long and full life accomplishing many things he and his family were proud of including his service to his country as a member of the US Navy serving in World War II, assigned to the OSS. He was known for his excellent woodworking and carpentry skills, and his expertise in boat building including his involvement with the James River Bateau Festival and the Montgomery Boat Yard in Massachusetts. He was a retired building inspector and a member of the V. F. W. Gerald was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

A memorial service and interment will be held in Gloucester, Massachusetts with fully military rites.
