Georgie Hamilton Giles, 93, of Atwood Street, Appomattox, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lew Ellewyn Giles, Jr.
Born in Appomattox, County, Va., on November 1, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Emeline Shupe and Eugene H. Hamilton. She was a member of Appomattox Courthouse Presbyterian Church and the Woodmen of the World Chapter #71, and retired from Amelia Dress Company.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne M. Giles and wife, Dorothy of Rustburg, Donald R. Giles of Spout Spring, and Dennis A. (Tic) Giles of Appomattox; a daughter, Sue G. Pulliam of Appomattox; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Mann and husband, Rick, Debbie Wooldridge, Sandra Velleca, Jenny Lou White, Brian Pulliam, Jack Lee Giles, Jr., Julie Ewers and husband, Sterling, Amanda Mullens and husband, Dean, and Fred Giles and wife, Amanda; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice H. Carson of Lynchburg; and a brother, Francis N. (Dick) Hamilton of Pamplin.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jack L. Giles; a brother, Daniel R. Hamilton; and sister, Josie H. Hudson.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Cameron Smith. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of Sue Pulliam.
