George Harold Reynolds, 80, of Wildway Rd. died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Ruby Lucado Reynolds for 62 years.
Born in Appomattox County, on July 20, 1928, he was the son of the late Homer Dean Reynolds and Emma Robertson Reynolds. He was retired from Babcock and Wilcox, a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and a member of Woodmen of the World.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Gloria R. Deaner and husband, Cecil of Appomattox, Dale R. Kent and husband, John of Appomattox, Rosiland R. Whitley and husband, Reggie of Lynchburg; seven brothers and sisters, Shirley Reynolds and wife, Hazel of Prospect, Clyde Reynolds and wife, Jean of Lynchburg, Doris Mitchell and husband, Hugh of Appomattox, Alfred Reynolds and wife, Betsy of Lynchburg, Merle Nash and husband, Ned of Appomattox, Ralph Reynolds and wife, Ann of Appomattox, Cecil Reynolds and wife, Margaret of Madison Heights; five grandchildren, Rodney Deaner and wife, Donna; Brian Goodrich and wife, Megan; Brent Goodrich, Eleanor Whitley and Graham Whitley; three great-grandchildren, Miranda Deaner, Ethan Goodrich and Gavan Goodrich.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie Rogers and the Rev. Robert Wilson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
