Gene Randolph "Randy" Bowles, Jr., 61, of Concord died on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Kathy Ballagh Bowles.

Born on January 19, 1962, he was the son of the late Gene Randolph Bowles, Sr., and Roberta Thomas Bowles. He was a member and deacon of New Concord Presbyterian Church and oversaw the cemetery. Randy was the Vice President of Red Acres Equipment Inc. where he worked as a welder/fabricator. He was a skilled craftsman who could make anything. He was also a member of James River Bassmasters Fishing Club and was a founding member of Crowfoot Hunt Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Kara B. Baker and husband, Willie, and granddaughter, Ella of Concord, and Ran Bowles and wife, Taylor of Evington; three siblings, Robert Wayne Ellis (Kathi) of Evington, Tina Bowles of Winston-Salem, NC, and Roberta B. Rosser of Concord; brother-in-law, Will Ballagh and wife, Anne and their daughter, Niki; mother-in-law, Dorothy Francis and husband, Roger all of Concord; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, March 5, 2023, at New Concord Presbyterian Church with Pastor Doug Lee officiating.
