With his family by his side, Gary Lawson Wooldridge, a lively and witty saint, passed on to glory October 6, 2017

Gary, a committed servant of Jesus Christ, was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Katherine, as well as his brother, Jimmy, leaves a bounty of family and friends to remember his wisdom, humor, and Christ-led living. They include his childhood sweetheart, Joan, with whom he had recently celebrated their 40 ^th wedding anniversary; two children and their families, Eric and Mindy Wooldridge and Kayla; Lauren, Charlie, Mikayla, and brand-new-grandbaby, Lawson Morris. In addition, Gary is survived by his brother-in-law and wife, Warren and Judi Coleman; and two nephews and a niece along with their families, Kyle (Melissa) Coleman, David (Laura) Coleman, and Katie Coleman. And a close cousin Suzanne and Mike Mitchell.

Gary retired from Georgia Pacific after 32 years of service as IT manager, Big Island Operations.

The family thanks all who have ministered to them through food, music, prayers, and on-going support with special thanks to Dr. John Plankeel and the Century Hospice team for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if donations were made in Gary's memory to Heritage Baptist Church, 219 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502; and to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Greater Virginia MDA, 1503 Santa Rose Rd, Suite 120, Richmond, VA 23229

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Chapel of Heritage Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm., Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the Chapel of Heritage Baptist Church with Pastor Nathan Smith officiating.

Burial will be held 4:00 p.m., at Evergreen Cemetery.
