Gary Thomas Ramsey, 62, of Oakville Road, Appomattox, died Monday, October 28, 2019 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Susie McCormick Ramsey, they shared their life together for 38 years.

Born in Lynchburg, November 12, 1956, he was a son of the late Alyne Irby and Raymond Howard Ramsey, Sr. Gary was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and former member of Concord Baptist Church. He worked 23 years at Weavexx Industries in Farmville. Mr. Ramsey was owner of the Corner Grocery, which was built by his father Raymond Ramsey, Sr., in 1984. Gary was active from 2000-2010 in fundraising for support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Michael Anthony Ramsey of Evergreen.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond H. Ramsey, Jr.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Small, Fred Kruschwitz, and Rev. Anthony Reeves officiating.
