Obituary
Gary Lee Carter, 57, of Old Courthouse Road, died, Tuesday, September 2, 2014. He was the husband of Laura Ann Bouton Carter.
Born in Lynchburg, June 2, 1957, he was a son of Jeanette Stanley Wright and the late Ronald Leo Carter. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a former supervisor for Thomasville Furniture.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons; Kevin Brian Carter and fiancé Melissa Ratliff and their son, Noah, of Brookneal, Matthew Wayne Carter and wife, LeAnne and their daughter, Lacy, of Spout Spring, Jeremy Ray Carter and Fiancé Courtney Page of Appomattox; one brother, Michael Carter of Lynchburg; three sisters, Annette Carter, Brenda Johnson, and her son, Scottie Allen, all of Appomattox, and Hope Purvis and husband, Donnie, and their children Cassidy and Shane, of Madison Heights; two step children, Joshua Fields and Lauren Fields and her son Miguel, all of Appomattox.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Earnie Lucas officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
