Obituary

Garland Hunter "Pete" Baber of Concord, went to be with his Lord on Sunday morning, February 3, 2008. He was the husband of Mary Alice Marshall Baber for 46 years.
Born in Appomattox, Co., February 9, 1936 he was a son of the late Richard and Nellie Johnson Baber. Mr. Baber was a 30 year employee of the City of Lynchburg and retired as an Athletic Director in the Recreation Department.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter Teresa Baber of Concord; three sisters, Nita Heflin of Fredericksburg, Mary Page of Roanoke, Lucy Jenkins of Lynchburg, a number of half brothers and half sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Rev. Richard Baber, four sisters, Virginia Norman, Eula Isenberg, Ollie Krugel, and Kathryn Diehr.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Casper, Rev. Carlton Duck and the Rev. Tom Clark. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 7-8:30.
