Garland Lee Doss

Garland Lee Doss, 80, of Court Street, died Monday, March 11, 2019. He was the loving husband of Alice Davis Doss.

Born in Appomattox, June 23, 1938, he was a son of the late Opal Minnix and Robert Leslie Doss. Garland was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #104. He enjoyed blue grass music, was an avid New York Yankees and UNC basketball fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Barry Doss of Appomattox; one sister, Barbara Metcalf of Darlington Heights; four grandchildren, Nick Doss and wife, Chelsea, Nealy Doss, Story Doss and Summer Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Max and Cooper; and son-in-law, Jerry Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Mitchell; two brothers, Cecil Doss and Robert "Dude" Doss; and one sister, Nellie Bryant.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2019, at Pamplin United Methodist Church with Pastor Logan Perry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
