Garland Kelly Cantrell, 49, of Old Courthouse Road, Appomattox, died Wednesday morning May 21, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of Sharon Belcher Cantrell.

Kelly was born in Hampton, VA., July 10, 1964, a son of Shirley S. and Kenneth Cantrell of Hampton. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Katie Cantrell of Appomattox; two brothers, Kenny Cantrell, and Ronnie Cantrell and wife, Pam all of Hampton; three sisters, Teresa Biggs and husband, John of Smithfield, Rita Schellenberg and husband, John of Lynchburg, Donna Cooper and husband, Stewart of Hampton; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill and Pansy Belcher of Appomattox.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday May 24, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Ron Moore. Burial will follow in Old Herman Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
