Obituary
Fred Collidge Smith, 93, of Appomattox, died Monday July 3, 2017 at his residence. He was the husband of Ruth Guill Smith.
Born in Richland, VA on February 28, 1924, he was a son of the late Wylie and Winnie Smith. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, a retired Pharmacist, and served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Dr. Larry F. Smith, of Appomattox; one sister, June W. Lowe of Abington; and one nephew, Sgt. Gregory Smith and his family.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Smith and Jimmy Smith; four sisters, Dora Ranson, Edith Fitzgerald, Garnett Marshall and Mary McDearmon.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
