Frank Dwight Wooldridge, 92, of Confederate Boulevard, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Babcock Manor. He was the loving husband of Eleanor Rice Wooldridge for 70 years.
Born in Appomattox, December 8, 1924, he was a son of the late Florence Martin and Lee Arthur Humphrey Wooldridge. He was a member of Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church and was a great supporter of Memorial United Methodist Church. Frank began working for Spencer Drug Store at a very young age under the guidance of Harold Spencer. When Mr. Spencer passed away Frank became part-owner. It was under Frank's management that this store evolved into Revco and then to CVS. He managed it until his retirement in the early 2000's.
In addition to his wife he is survived by "the daughter they never had" Lisa Smith and husband, Blair of Appomattox; and two nieces, Florence Lee Watson and husband, Bob of Farmville and Hilda Martin and husband, Bill of FL.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Wooldridge, Woodrow Wooldridge, Edward Wooldridge; two sisters, Vivian Kauffman and Katherine (Tinky) Clark; and a devoted caretaker and neighbor Robin Whitehead Mayberry.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home with Gene Beverly.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Blair and Lisa Smith.
