Frank Carlton (Jimbo) Harris Jr., 84, of North Creek Road, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at his home.
Carlton was born in Appomattox County, August 27, 1934, the only child of the late Frank Carlton Harris Sr. and Mattie Laura Evelyn Whitehead Harris. He was a member and former deacon of Red Oak Baptist Church in Oakville. Carlton was a tobacco, dairy and beef family farmer for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Caldwell Harris; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie C. and Debbie Harris of Appomattox; his daughter-in-law, Laurie S. Harris of Lynchburg; a granddaughter, Susan G. Arrington and husband, Dan; two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Addison Arrington all of Waynesboro, Va.; close friends, Rev. David and Patricia Beale; and numerous cousins.
Carlton was preceded in death by his son, Phillip C. Harris.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2018, in the Harris Family Cemetery on North Creek Road by the Rev. Tom Barker and the Rev. John Muth.
The family will receive friends at the home.
