Frank Herbert Carwile, 87, of Appomattox, died June 14, 2017, at the home of his son in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Born in Charlotte County, Va., on November 13, 1929, he was a son of the late Gladys Gilliam and Hugh Elliott Carwile. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church, an US Air Force veteran serving in Korea, and served on the Appomattox County Board of Supervisors for 12 years. In 1968, Frank started Carwile Construction Company, Inc. which he operated until 2003 when his son, Jeff took over operations.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey T. and Jennifer M. Carwile of Castle Rock, Colorado; three grandchildren, Alexandra Carwile, Samantha Carwile, and Nicholas Carwile; four step-children, Michael Belter and wife, Hillary, Douglas Belter, Kenneth Belter and wife, Carol, and Johnna Belter and Tess Colby; six step-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Morris and husband, Claude of Buckingham; a dear friend, Nancy Marks and her daughter and son, Jamie and Jeff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, H. E. Carwile.
A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Spring Creek Baptist Cemetery by the Rev. David Sexton. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
