Obituary

Frances Muse Evans, 88, of Spring Mill Rd., Concord, died Friday morning, March 13, 2009 in the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 17, 1920, in Gloucester Co., Va., she was the youngest daughter of P.E. and Annie Valentine Haywood Muse. Frances was a member of New Concord Presbyterian Church and was active for many years as a 4-H leader in Campbell Co. She worked in Campbell County Schools as a reading teacher's aide and would volunteer with the American Red Cross.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George M. Evans, Sr.; one son, George M. "Greg" Evans, Jr. and his wife, Vickie; and one daughter, Ann Muse Evans, all of Concord; a grandson Christopher Thompson and his wife, Hilary of Spout Spring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William T. Muse, and four sisters, Dolly Muse, Ella Muse Borden, Betsy Muse Douglas and Cassie Muse Weaver.
A Memorial Service will be held, 2:00 pm, Monday, March 16, 2009 at New Concord Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Emily Larsen.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and other times at the residence.
