Frances Cralle Hill, 82, of Appomattox, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles Dudley Hill, Sr.
Frances was born in Appomattox County, May 8, 1927, a daughter of the late Charles Craddock (Captain) Cralle and Lucy Parker Cralle. She was a member of Appomattox Anglican Church and the Appomattox Woman's Club. Frances worked for Courtland Manufacturing in Appomattox, for 30 years.
She is survived by a son, Charles Dudley Hill, Jr., of Appomattox; one daughter, Jane Hill Kelly of Appomattox; one sister, Virginia Saunders Wolff; of New Braunfels, TX; one Granddaughter, Kristina Elizabeth Hill, of Arlington; three nephews, and two nieces.
She is also survived by the family pet, "Eddie", an 11 year on Jack Russell Terrier, who she loved and adored.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucile Cralle Ferrell and Elizabeth Cralle Evans.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m., Friday, June 19, 2009 at Appomattox Anglican Church, by the Rev. Kevin Sweeney. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter Jane Kelly, Church Street .
