Frances Lee "Lucy" Gagneur, 83, of Appomattox passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Norman Bernard Gagneur for 54 years.

Born in Appomattox on August 19, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Bernard Doss, Sr., and Daisy Nell Doss. Nanny loved scratching her lottery tickets, Moore's Hotdogs, meals at Captain D's, and Saturday Night with Larry (Lawrence Welk).

She is survived by four children, Janice Henderson and husband, Kenneth, Wendy Martin, Norman B. Gagneur II, and Cara Taylor and husband, James; twelve grandchildren, Dana Martin and husband, Greg, Andrea Martin, Stephanie Fike and husband, Steve, Robert Martin and wife, April, Shana Page and husband, Brian, Keith Gagneur and Libby Williamson, Chris Gagneur and wife, Britney, Justin Taylor and wife, Hannah Nicole, Michael Henderson and Donna Sayre, Brittany Hess, and Michael Hess; 15 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, James C. Doss and wife, Mary, Shirley Ferguson, and Patricia Davidson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona Neumann, a grandson, Cody Taylor, daughter-in-law, Lisa Gagneur; four brothers, David, Clarence, Samuel, Jr., and Charles Doss; and three sisters, Mary Jane Doss, Peggy Ayers, and Helen Burnette.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the residence at any time.
