Frances Murden Cheatham, 77, of Double Bridges Road, died Friday, July 5, 2019. For 60 years, she was the loving wife of William Richard Cheatham.
Born in Amherst, November 22, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Annie Lawhorne and Robert Pendleton Murden. Frances was a member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church, and retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries after 19 years of service. She was a loving and giving person to her family, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Ray Cheatham and wife, Debbie of Spout Spring, Vicky C. Phelps and husband, Richard, Jr., of Gladstone and Stuart Cheatham and wife, Susan of Spout Spring; one brother, Robert Lee Murden of Spout Spring; six grandchildren, Hunter Cheatham and fiancé, Lauren Goff, Ashley Cheatham, Krystan Harris and husband, Raymond, Michelle Oler and husband, Andrew, Dylan Chetham and Colby Cobb, and Emily Cheatham; six great-grandchildren, Dallas, Lauryn, Hallie, Emersyn, Aubrey, and James; a special nephew, Randall "Toot" Murden; and The William W. Cheatham Family who welcomed her as one of their own and became an important part of her life.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, July 8, 2019, at Reedy Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Davis and Rev. John Muth officiating . Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church, and other times at her residence.
