Obituary

Foster Lee (Jimmy) Pierce, 86, of Oakville Road, Appomattox, died Friday morning June 20, 2014 in Virginia Baptist Hospital.

Jimmy was born in Gretna on March 2, 1928 a son of the late Pauline Moschler and Lonnie Pierce. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and after 60 years of service retired as the co-owner and operator of Pierce –Johnson Lumber Company of Dillwyn.

Jimmy is survived by his children, Tim Pierce and wife, Patsy, Debbie P. Goin all of Appomattox; Mark Pierce and wife, Beth, and Liz P. Creasy and husband, Roger all of Evington; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Chad Pierce, sister, Ida P. Elliott and 3 brothers, Alvin, Paul and James Pierce.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday June 22, 2014 at Bible Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Jeff Whorley and the Rev. Jerry Boyce. Burial will follow at 5:00 PM in Green Lawn Cemetery, Hurt, VA.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. in the church on Sunday.
