Floyd Elliott Williams, 73, of Appomattox, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Barbara Ragland Williams for 54 years.

Born in Lynchburg, November 25, 1944, he was a son of the late Mattie Watson and Walter Williams. Floyd was a graduate of Appomattox High School and Lynchburg College. He retired as President and CEO of Farmers Bank of Appomattox.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Michael E. Williams and wife, Victoria of Great Falls, Sheri Williams Word and husband, Scott of Richmond; four grandchildren, Lacey Word, Thomas Word, Davis Williams and Amelia Williams.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Edward Williams.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday July 30, 2018, at Grace Hills Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Adam Tyler and The Very Reverend Robert Sullivan with a reception to follow.

A private family burial will take place at Old Herman Cemetery.
