Floyd Noble Moore, 83, of Amherst passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane Anderson Moore.

Born in Amherst County on September 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Charlie Christian Moore and Maggie Litchford Moore. Floyd enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, gardening, and canning.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa M. Davis and husband, Craig; his son, Wayne Moore all of Amherst; two grandchildren, Taylor and Ashley Davis; sister, Ivan M. Harless of Lynchburg; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, LaFaye Martin.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Leslie, Joseph, Thomas, Warren, and R.B. Moore; and three sisters, June Freeman, Barbara Downey, and Dollene Wooldridge.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 pm, Friday, April 25, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Sudlow officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

A private burial will be held at Moore Family Cemetery.
