Florence Heath Richards of Bentley Commons, Lynchburg, passed away on July 1, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of George T. Richards.

Born in Buckingham County on May 20, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Phebe McFadden and Charlie Heath.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara R. Williams and husband, Floyd of Appomattox and Teresa R. Poe and husband, Richard of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Michael Williams and wife, Vicki of Great Falls, VA, Sheri Word and husband, Scott of Richmond, Nicholas Poe and wife, Leanne of Long Island, NY, Colin Poe of Roanoke, and Kathryn Poe of Lynchburg; four great-grandchildren, Lacey Word and Thomas Word both of Richmond, Davis Williams and Amelia Williams both of Great Falls, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Lacy Ragland and Willie Lawrence Amos; four brothers, Willie, Percy, Washington and Everette Heath.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jennings Duncan officiating. There will be a private burial at Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service at Robinson Funeral Home.
