Obituary
F. Leonard Flynn, Jr., 54, of Patteson School Rd., Appomattox, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Yvonne Taylor Flynn.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, on August 21, 1959, he was the son of Francis Leonard Flynn, Sr. of Appomattox and the late Mary Judith O'Brien Flynn. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Leonard worked for over 30 years with Thomasville Furniture in the shipping department and more recently employed by the Lynchburg Training Center.
In addition to his father he is survived by a sister, Kathy Lindsey and husband, Kenneth of Madison Heights; a brother, Dennis Flynn of Appomattox; a devoted brother and sister-in-law, John and Penny Taylor of Appomattox; a sister-in-law, Glenda Houtz of Buckingham; numerous nieces and nephews and his constant canine companion, Socks.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Ann Flynn.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2014, in New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Moore and Andrew Hise. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
