EVERETTE MALCOLM "Mac" BLACKWELL Everette Malcolm "Mac" Blackwell, 76, of Augusta Street, Lynchburg, died Friday morning, April 25, 2008 at the Medical care Center. He was the husband of Mattie Lora Fleshman Blackwell for 53 years. Mac was born in Appomattox, February 7, 1932 a son of the late Nannie Victoria Smith and Everette Wilson Blackwell. He was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #16, Woodman of the World and Moose Lodge #715. Mac proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, and Master Sergeant Blackwell retired from the United States Air Force with over 22 years of service, and was retired from Centra Health after 22 years in 1996. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bruce Scott Blackwell and his wife Suzanne Campbell of Madison Heights and Brian Anthony Blackwell and his wife Connie McKnight of Lynchburg, grandson, Keith Cable and his wife Margaret Crumbley of Connecticut and a great-grandson Aidan Casper Cable, two sisters, Hilda Elaine Shrock and her husband, Dale Dean Shrock of Appomattox, and Eleanor Aletha Walton of Farmville, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Arthur Allen, David Arron and Otis Wilson Blackwell and a sister, Annie Louise Blackwell Cox. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 28, 2008 in Liberty Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. by the Rev. George Kreidel, with military rites to be accorded by the Seamore Johnson Honor Guard. Prior to the service, the family will visit with friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M.
