Evelyn Virginia Alexander Roach, 90, of Loblolly Hill Rd., Pamplin, died Saturday morning, Nov. 1, 2008, at her residence. She was the wife of Robert Donald Roach.
Born Nov. 10, 1917, in Baltimore, MD., she was a daughter of the late James Fletcher and Virgie Catherine Schaefer Alexander. Prior to her retirement, she was a clerk with the Appomattox Revco.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Raitzyk, of Appomattox, and a son, Larry A. Warch, and his wife, Cindy, of Mt. Airy, MD.; three grandchildren, Sue and John Lawson of Appomattox, Larry Alan and Diane Warch, and Michael Warch, all of Baltimore, MD.; two great grandchildren, Adam Lawson and Randi L. Abell and her husband, Shawn; one sister, Edith Pease, Baltimore, MD.; three step children, Donnie Roach, Linda R. and J.D. Price, all of Pamplin and Martha Ann, Rustburg; three brothers-in-law, Johnny and Louise Roach, Appomattox, Stanley Roach, Pamplin, Rodney and Annie Roach, Lovingston and one sister-in-law, Sandra and Glenn McIntosh of Pamplin.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Miriam Logan and Lorraine Metcalf and one sister-in-law, Dora Jean R. Williams.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 in Liberty Cemetery by the Rev. Ron Moore. The family will have a time of visitation from 1:00 pm until the time of the service, at the cemetery.
