Etta Jane (Janie) Fifer, 53 of Holcomb Road, Spout Spring, died at her residence Friday morning November 21, 2014. She was the wife of Glenn Michael Fifer.
Janie was born in Church Hill, TN December 24, 1960 a daughter of Margaret Etta Cline Dinges of Appomattox and the late Ralph Franklin Dinges. She was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church where she was very involved in missions. Janie was formally employed in the Admissions Department at Liberty University.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Desmond J. Fifer of Spout Spring; a daughter, Megan Alicia and her husband, George A. Smith, III of Lynchburg; a brother, Steve F. Dinges of Appomattox; niece, Melaine Mofield and her husband Cary of Cheyenne, WY; nephew, Brandon Scott (Scottie) Burnett; sister-in-law, Carroll F. McDearmon and husband, John; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ethel M. and Dewey J. Fifer and numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Monday November 24, 2014 at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Mark Grooms and the Rev. John Pickett. Burial will follow at 3pm in Sedalia Baptist Church Cemetery, Big Island, VA.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service and at other times at the residence.
