Ethel Jane Giles Mann, 72, of Red House Rd, Appomattox, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009, in Avanté at Lynchburg. She was the wife of Harold A. Mann.
Born in Appomattox County, February 28, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Orson Taylor (O.T.) Giles and Etta Jane Lawhorne Giles. Jane was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked for Amelia Dress Co. and later became a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Harold, she is survived by a son, Larry Mann; a daughter, Amy M. Stewart and her husband, Robert L. Stewart; step-granddaughter, Laurey D. Stewart; two step-great-grandchildren, Braedan and Kaedance; two sisters, Nellie Jarrell and Shirley Godsey all of Appomattox and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Rachel Giles, Laura Jordan, Elma Hoke, and Inez Blackwell and two brothers, Taylor and Edward Giles.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, October 5, 2009 in Liberty Cemetery by the Rev. Rusty Small.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today (Sunday) from 3-5:00 pm.
