Ethel Jane Marvin Beasley, 89, of Purdum Mill Road, Appomattox, died Friday, April 3, 2015, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born in Hector, New York, on February 9, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Cora Updyke and LaVerne Francis Marvin, Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon Hall Beasley; a daughter, Linda Hanlon and husband, Thomas of Lombard, Ill.; four grandchildren, Anthony Ariola, Michelle Radloff and husband, Ben, Amy Hanlon, and Thomas Hanlon, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Audri, and Jax; four sisters, Nancy Lou Svoboda of Tacoma, Wash., Shirley Mae Kennedy of Turners Falls, Mass., Barbra Ann Dieffenbach, and Carol Joan Smith both of Binghamton, N.Y.; two brothers, Donald Edward Marvin and wife, Karen of Elmira, N.Y. and Ronald Eugene Marvin and wife, Liyi of Victorville, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Francis Marvin and LaVerne Francis, Jr. and sister, Thelma Louise Henry.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Adam Tyler with burial following in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 6, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
