Appomattox: Ervin Taylor McCormick, 77, of Buck Creek Road, died November 11, 2007 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Louise E. McCormick.
Born in Appomattox County, October 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Lewis Saunders and Eva Williamson McCormick. Ervin was a member of Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church, and retired with 43 years of service from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
He is survived by a son, David Taylor McCormick and his wife, Joan; a daughter, Denise McCormick Totty and her husband, Ralph, all of Appomattox; two sisters Elizabeth M. Garrett and her husband, Terry, and Margaret McCormick all of Lynchburg; two brothers, Edward McCormick and his wife, Maggie of Ocala, Florida, Pete McCormick and his wife, Dawn of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, April McCormick Griffin and her husband, Bruce, Adam McCormick, Heather Totty, Jamie Davidson, and Lauren Totty; one great-grandchild, Kendall A. Nash.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra McCormick Tolbert; a sister, Frances M. Tolley; two brothers, Leonard McCormick, Sr., and Wallace McCormick.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at Ervin's residence.
