EMMA SPIGGLE TOTTY
Emma Jane Spiggle Totty, 97, of Appomattox, died Saturday morning February 4, 2012 at Appomattox Health and Rehab. She was the widow of Robert Alexander Totty.
Emma was born in Appomattox County on April 1, 1914 a daughter of the late Maggie Coleman and Robert North Spiggle. She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church, a homemaker and a retired employee of Courtland Manufacturing with forty-four years of service.
She is survived by her children Bea Hudson of Appomattox; Dorothy Phelps and her husband, Richard and Herbert W. Totty and his wife Kay all of Gladstone; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Linda B. Totty of Appomattox. She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Totty, two sisters, Ada S. Garrett and Lillian S. Love; brother, Robert B. (Doc) Spiggle and a son-in-law, Ray Hudson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday February 7, 2012 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Bryant. Burial will follow in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7:00 P.M. Monday February 6 and at other times at the home of Richard & Dorothy Phelps, 10698 Oakville Road, Gladstone, VA.
