Emery Walter Meetze, Jr., 97, of Appomattox, passed Wednesday, March 12, 2025. He was the husband of the late Jeannett Lambeth Meetze.

Born in Danville, VA, on November 20, 1927, he was a son of the late Minnie Pearl Taylor Meetze and Emery Walter Meetze, Sr. He served in the US Army Airforce, retired from J. T. Townes Printing Company in Danville and was a private pilot. Walter was a master craftsman, excelling in woodworking and carpentry, an artist, enjoying drawing and painting.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carol M. and Charlie Bowman; two grandchildren, Codi Bowman Henry and husband, Andrew and Charlie Walter Bowman and fiancée, Katelyn Berkovitz; and two great-grandchildren, Shane and Kaylee.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Otwa Lee Meetze.

A private service will be held at a later date.
