Elsie Johnson Burrell, 76, of Redfields Road, Appomattox, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward Ira Burrell.
Born in Pamplin, Va., on December 1, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Irma Price and E. Howard Johnson. She was a member of Pamplin United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star in Pamplin. Elsie was a people person and made lots of friends while working in the deli for Harris Teeter and Kroger.
She is survived by her son, Steve Burrell of Pamplin; two grandsons, Eddie Burrell and wife, Mariah and Michael Burrell both of Appomattox; a brother, Lawrence Johnson and wife, Eleanor of Pamplin; a sister, Betty Elliott and husband, Charles of Appomattox; two special nieces, Teresa Elliott Dunn and Dianna Burrell Kline; and a devoted friend, Marion Garrett.
A memorial service will be held at 11a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Rusty Small.
The family will receive friends at the home of Eleanor and Lawrence Johnson today, Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m.
